The Little Bugger: Where Little Divas Belong

Yo, all the mommas with little girls, put your hands up!

When I knew I was pregnant with LB, I actually felt since day 1 that it's going to be a girl. And it thrilled my inner senses that I would have like a real life-sized doll that I can prep up for any occasion. My guts didn't fail me. On my 5th month of infanticipation, an ultrasound confirmed my baby's gender. I started to hoard pretty things for her --- Hello Kitty, pink stuff and everything for my little diva. I never thought that my diva treatment to her will make her such though. Haha! Now, let us not be mistaken that I am totally raising a spoiled brat here. Say, diva in a 19th century definition but with a modern twist. Something like a princess of the new millennium. Alright?

Something like Shiela Baluyot aimed to have when she opened The Little Bugger.

Shel, as she is most known as, opened TLB almost exactly a year ago. She was formally working as a Media Officer in a telecommunications company, but had to stop. Ever had that feeling of being in a wrong place for such a long time?  Yup, stuck in a rut. That's what she exactly felt. Her initial business dream was to own a small restaurant, 'cause like what most of us think, you can never go wrong with having a food biz. Scared to take risk and lack of funds were her biggest reasons why she didn't push through with her plan A. And like a leap of fate, her daughter Kaela inspired her to give birth to her plan B --- TLB.

Just like any excited momma to a little girl, she frequently bought anything that she fancies for her baby diva. She was a SAHM for a few months after giving birth and she felt incomplete by being so. She felt the need to do something and there she found the knack for children's fashion industry. Her travels to Hongkong and Korea helped her get to her toes in coming up with fanciful array of supplies for the biz. Without any entrepreneurship background, only armed with a goal to dress her little Kaela up like a modern princess, in a year's time, without trying much too hard; TLB has been a home of celebrity-worthy outfits. Yes, this is where little divas belong.

Managing your own time because you are your own boss is actually just an icing on the cake. What makes TLB special for Shel is that she knows that her clients are happy and satisfied because she provided them unique and fashionable items. TLB believes that to be able to live a real diva life is to wear not only clothes with good quality but those of styles that stand out among the rest. Shel didn't get her royalty status in the online store industry without experiencing real bad things when she was starting. She felt stress big time and realized that "customers are always right". And surprisingly, those she had bad encounters with still come back for more of her pretty pieces. Shel also listens to her clients' requests. This year, she plans to expand her product range since she had focused on selling toddler clothes ever since. So for TLB fans who have baby divas, watch out for beautiful baby dresses that TLB can offer this year along with the hope of building her own boutique.

And I personally wish for more celebrity clients in the coming months to add to her already growing roster of Filipinoordering from her; like Andi Eigenman, Kristine Hermosa-Sotto, Sherilyn Reyes-Tan, Sunshine Cruz-Montano, Ronald Singson and a lot more. ❤

The boxes are owned by her partner Fenton, who owns a lighting business.
Watch our for TLB's 1st anniversary next month and they will be celebrating it here in my cyber castle with a giveaway! Catch the bug in hopping into these social sites: (just click the link to directly go to TLB's account)
