Back to Basics with Johnson's Baby

Alright, I know I have used different brands for LB's skin as mentioned here & here, but truly, I am a Johnson's Baby fan. Ever since. I'm sure there are a lot of moms who will disagree. Kesyo masyado daw matapang ang Johnson's products and if compared sa brands na gamit nila, eh hindi ito ganun ka-gentle. Oo naman, hindi naman ako makikipagtalo. But you know what, ang mahalia jackson ng ilan sa soshal brands eh. As in ilang bottles na ng Johnson's ang katumbas ng isang bote ng brand nila. Well, if I have the money and the means to buy those brands, why not noh. Kasi I tried na din naman once, and super nagustuhan ko. But whenever bet ko ng bumili at nai-prepare ko na ang budget for that, hala ka, biglang may darating na biglaang gastusin. Example, naubusan kami ng GAS! Eh jusme, they are of the same price na. So ayun, magreresort ako sa kung anong meron sa Mercury Drug or suking supermarket. And that is Johnson's nga. Our trusted brand with an affordable price.

On the lighter side of things, I personally used Johnson's products over the years. Hindi ata makukumpleto ang kadalagahan ko kung walang Johnson's Baby Powder. Because I believe, oiliness is next to ugliness. Of course, nung lumabas ang Blossoms (yes, yung pink), yun na madalas kong bilhin. And I think, my own mom used Johnson's Baby on us four of her kids when we were little. Guess what, pimples aside, makinis naman kami. Hindi mukhang sa public school nag-aaral. Kasi 'di ba, may ilang parents na ang peg nila "magmukhang sa exclusive school nag-aaral ang anak". Haha! Namulat ang kamalayan ko na mag-lotion pagkaligo, it has been a part of my routine. And dahil lumuluhod ako para maglinis ng sahig nung bagets ako (very Mara Clara moment), tuhod ang pinaka bet kong lagyan ng lotion.

So it is just obvious that I will pass on the Johnson's fever to LB. I recently bought her big bottles of Johnson's Baby Milk Bath and Milk Lotion. I noticed that her mosquito-bitten scars are gradually fading. Pati her semi-calluses in her ankles, pumuputi na din. I guess the main reason why is hindi na kahoy ang sofa na gamit namin (we were using wooden sofa in MIL's house). Kasi di ba sa wood, nakakasingit ang insects and matigas ito that when LB sits like a pretzel, ayun sureball na kalyo and peklat. Now, mas nagkaka-confidence na ako (at ako talaga ha!) na pagsuotin siya ng shorts, skirts and dresses without covering her legs with leggings, stockings or knee-high socks. But it doesn't mean na Johnson's Baby ang may gawa nito. It's just that, I want to take the road to a more holistic approach --- alaga ng ina. Kasi nga may extra money ako. Because I'm the one who takes care of her, not the expensive bath brands. Pak.

How about you momma, what brand do you use for your kid's skin?

  3. J&J din baby din ako - Oilyness is next to ugliness!!! Winner! haha And I tried not using it for my son kasi sabi nga di natural. And I did try yung natural products, but I find na that they don't smell as good on my son after pawisan... eh sobrang pawisin pa naman. So back to J&J sya - shampoo, lotion, cologne and syempre, powder! :) Winner pa ang prize.
