That's it. These are what I got for 45 seconds from the free shopping spree when we were invited at the press launch of Puregold's latest partnership with Globe GCash.
Rowena, ze Animetric, hoarded tissue, fabric conditioner and panty liners. OK, I'm confusing you, I suppose. Here's a short background: The press launch started with media and bloggers registering as usual; then event host Giselle Sanchez stepped on stage and did her thing. She announced that there will be exciting games on the latter part of the program. To be honest, I was just expecting that there will a raffle contest and that they will give Puregold GCs as prizes. I really shop in Puregold (I think Marikina has more than 6 branches of PG) so to say that I was excited was an understatement. Oh no, no, no! The agency, Virtusio PR, that handled the account surprised us: They wanted us to shop in Puregold for free! Upon hearing her announcement, I was already shaking. No kidding.
When I asked this question in my fan page, it was warmly welcomed: If you will be given 45 SECONDS to shop for groceries for FREE, what will you buy? This got 24 likes and 42 comments! I know, I know. All of us dreamed of this. I was in nirvana when Giselle announced Bebengisms was in the 2nd batch of shoppers, along with Animetric. Rowena and I were discussing what to buy. She said she'll hoard milk and I agreed! Cowhead is my daughter's favorite. I was planning to get 10 cartons of plain, 5 cartons of strawberry and 5 cartons of chocolate. But hey, it wasn't allowed to shop for dairy, perishable (fresh) products, imported chocolates, liquor and frozen goods. My energy went down a bit. So I thought of pasta and sauces!!! Ooh, kinilig ako. When it was our turn, I was so glad Pia was game to be left behind so I could fulfill my dream of shopping for free! When Giselle said "Go!", my heart felt like it was my first kiss with my husband. Hahahahaha! I ran to the aisle where there were pasta noodles and got fettuccine and linguine. I was looking for the sauces when I heard Giselle said "last 10 seconds". Grrrr. I almost peed. Haha! So I did the next best thing: Get whatever I can. Right, I got "field trip stuff". No judging please. It was really that hard to concentrate ha. Like what I told my friends about the experience: Nakakawala ng pinag-aralan. As in, I feel so stupid upon realizing that what I shopped for were the lamest in the group. You won't believe how much all of these cost! It's below Php1000. Bwahahahaha!
I may be the worst shopper that day but I must admit that I was really, really happy. The whole experience, baskil and hingal and arthritis, was something else. It was so worth to share with people during bolahan. I mean, you don't do such things every day and it was like one check in my bucket list ― kahit wala naman talaga ako nun. Hehe. Speaking of checking one in the bucket list, I went to the very old but very clazz The Manila Hotel the day after. So sosyal the place! But as usual, I love my blonde hair so I embraced my bimbo-ness. I went there and wore casual clothes. Heehee. More about that and Puregold-GCash partnership in the next posts.
So... what will you buy for 45 seconds in Puregold? ;)
