Life Lately: Do you have someone who believes in you?

Few days ago, I fought real hard against sadness brought by envy.

As a blogger, may mga gusto akong ma-achieve na unfortunately, hindi ko nakukuha. Siyempre, diyan na ako magsisimulang mag-doubt sa kakayahan ko. Am I not good enough? Do I really have what it takes to be the next top model este to be an influencer? I even questioned myself once if my posts are still relevant. Pakiramdam ko, wala na akong bagong maihahain sa mga readers and followers ko.

But guys, may nabasa ako. Daig daw ng consistent ang magaling. Mahabang usapin yan, pwedeng topic for debate, pero pinanghawakan ko yan ng bongga. I spoke to the little girl inside me and said, “tie your hair tight and neat, marami pa tayong gagawin.”

To further leave the puddle of toxicity that I created, I did my best to shift my mental gears. I strongly believe that clarity fosters calmness.

Living my life as usual, we went to church last Sunday and gave tithes. As in, 10% of what was left from my husband’s bonus after paying a hefty loan. Mabigat yun sa loob ko kung tutuusin ha kasi magpa-pasko but I followed Christ because I trust that He will never forsake us.

After church service, I got an email from a brand. Yes, it was sent on a Sunday! Finally, matutuloy na yung digital campaign nila and they want me to work with them. Ang bilis ng reward ni God noh? But I still didn’t let that distract me from my oplan tanggal toxicity.

Instead of counting the chicks before they hatch, I focused more on my duties as a house manager. Kanina lang, I was able to fix the messy corner in the living area kung saan ilalagay ang Christmas tree. I will leave the putting up to R, though. Kanya talagang role kasi yun ever since we bought the tree. Then I organized our photo albums and Sophia’s school documents, which made me realize I haven’t printed out Sammy’s first birthday party photos yet! Grabe, she’ll be turning two na next month. Procrastination at its finest, I’m not proud of it.

And just before dinner, while my girls were watching Cocomelon videos for the nth time (upon madam Sammybear’s request no less), I received email after email from brands and agencies. I hope this won’t sound blasphemous but it looked like Bruce Almighty was behind all these. I mean, parang he clicked yes to all my prayer requests kasi, ganon ka-intense! I already know how wonderfully amazing our God the Father is but guys, if you’ll just know how He made me feel from zero to hero, grabe talaga. I absolutely cannot even.

Ang galing eh! Talagang totoo ang Psalm 37:4, “delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” So when I said that I will continue to blog for me and His glory, tototohanin ko yun. Of course, my food and motherhood posts in my social media channels will always be there but expect to read more about my life as a work-in-progress woman of faith.

By the way, this is my song for my girls, which I think is God’s song for me. Yes, Air Supply! Hihi. Enjoy. ♡
