Face Up to Acne with Safeguard Derma Sense

It was a busy month last month, like what I said in my earlier posts, but that didn't stop me from taking the opportunity to attend to some media events this humble cyber kingdom has been invited to. The said event was probably one of those that I was really excited to be a part of ― Safeguard launched its new product, Derma Sense, which they held at the Philippine Educational Theater Association (or more known as PETA) ― what's not to be excited about, right?

I tagged my mini blog event buddy with me and was glad that she cooperated well. She ate at the cocktails area like a fine lady. OK, I'm lying. She ate hungrily like a construction worker. LOL. But she was game and was looking forward to watch the musical play entitled Hashtag: Pimples Anonymous with me. The musical play showcased different scenario wherein the characters had this humongous pimple smacked right in their face for everyone to see that eventually ruined their lives and dreams. Well, it was not as tragic as I made it sound as the whole musical play was astoundingly funny. The hilarity in each scene was not overused and based on my knowledge in acting per se (wow as if haha), it was ROTFWL-worthy. It was a general patronage kind of humor that even my 5-year old had appreciated. She laughed with us like a teenager! Divine was the crowd favorite!

What I like most about the campaign was that they did not only focus on the un-romantic side of having pimples. Instead, they exhibited that pimples can break all your plans to having a good future. Like what Safeguard's Brand Manager, Maco Torres said ―
“Safeguard Derma Sense recognizes that the effects of acne can be more than just physical, and that the brand has a role to play in empowering consumers, especially moms and their teens, in facing up to acne.”

Safeguard doesn't automatically remove the active acne on your face after washing but it does prevent it from happening with continued use. According to Dr. Ma. Pilar Lagdameo-Leuenberger, Fellow of Philippine Dermatological Society, “Bacteria are a critical root cause of acne and the first step in managing mild to moderate acne is keeping skin protected from acne-causing bacteria through regular cleansing of the skin using an antimicrobial soap.” To better understand acne, its prevalence and what-nots, here's an infographic by Safeguard.

I hope that when my daughter reaches puberty, she won't have acne. As in ever. It's such a pain in the ass! Your face will look like an ass after having throbbing and reddish pimples. Sorry, I just have to say that. Haha! But in case she'll have (I still hope she won't have haha), we both can #FaceUp to it by using Safeguard Derma Sense.

    1. For your existing pimples, it won't. But it will help prevent your face to have future break-outs. Hope I answered your question. :)

    1. Oh no! Stop using it then. Hindi ka hiyang. Or maybe, it is one way of cleaning your face up. After a few weeks, mawawala din yan. But best to consult a dermatologist asap.
