Rayala Dialogues: Brutally Honest

I'm not quite sure if it has something to do with her being an innocent child or it simply runs in her blood, but my preschool diva is one brutally honest little lass.

One day, while we were at the newly-built McDonald's branch in Marikina, we saw a black guy with her Pinay girlfriend. Heads up royalties, we're not racists. We're totally not! In fact, I'm very sensitive when it comes to issues like that that it irks me when I hear people say "negro", "baluga" or something as offending as those. Maybe because my daughter has not seen anyone with that complexion, that she said this...
Sophia: Why is he all brown?Me: Mmm.. In their country, they're all like that.Sophia: (without batting an eyelash) Is Tatay from his country?
Oh. I think she saw one already. Love you, Tatay! ♡

Now that she's almost 4 feet tall and is becoming a great conversationalist, the more that I miss her babyhood! So during one idle moment at home, I was making her lambing...
Me: When you were a baby, lagi ka lang naka-hug sa akin, near my kili-kili.
Sophia: Are you kidding me, 'Nay? I don't like kili-kili!
Aba naman. Jaskeng bata ire.

My always-starving Dutchmill monster was about to raid the refrigerator minutes after we had lunch when I caught her. She saw me looking at her...
Sophia: I want to drink something from the ref! (defensive tone)Me: Water. Drink water.
Sophia: Eeeeh. Boring yung water!
Speechless.

  2. Hahahaha! Awww. Funny na nakakaloka! I remember when my now 13-year-old sister was that age. A lot of witty anecdotes, too! :)

There was one time I was telling her that I was going to bring her Funshine Bear to the laundry because, I said, dirty na siya. My then-little sister said, "She's not dirty. Tanned lang siya." Hahahaha! #kidssay
