Sophia Turned Five: Lunch at Home and Dinner at Red Ribbon

Two weeks and few days earlier, the Rayala kingdom was uber busy preparing for the princess' 5th birthday party which was held at her school. I will share with you the details of LB's colorful gallopin' gala of sweets and fun party on a separate post. If you wish to see it on Instagram, you may search it via this hashtag #LBTurnsFive. Yes, may sariling hashtag ang event ng bagets! In the meantime, allow me to make kwento the things that happened on her exact birth date.

I forgot what we did the previous day, which was a Sunday, and why we woke up so late for breakfast on that day. My hungry king just munched on hot pandesal while I cook lunch. I fried five pieces of chicken wings and cooked mixed veggies, coincidentally, with five veggies (except for the red bell pepper)!  And since we knew that she'd be having cake the evening of the same day and on her party, I just opened five pieces of Whattatops and placed a pink candle in the center cupcake.Yes, anything five for my five-year-old little lady.

It was raining cats and dogs that evening but I didn't care because I planned days ahead that I'd be meeting my giveaway winners over dinner at Red Ribbon. Well, I got gift certificates from an event and thought of sharing it with them. I texted Edel and Aryanne that we'd be meeting them at the shop in Katipunan Avenue, QC. Kaloka, wala na palang store doon! Then Aryanne said there's one in Libis. Off we went to Libis, yes I remembered meron nga doon. When we arrived there, lo and behold, as if the gods of odds had conspired to make me unhappy at the night of my baby's birthday, no dining area! Bakeshop na lang. Ayayay. I was so badtrip and diyahe na to my winners and to my husband (na super magha-hunger strike na! LOL). So I thought of just buying them a cake and some goodies. But there was a better idea! There was one in Marikina. Grabe, sana hindi na kami lumayo. Edel went home na lang 'cause she lives in Binondo, Manila pa. -_-

We were wearing our terno dresses from Au Pair Addizione that night but didn't have our photo together. 'Cause my motto that night: ibigay ang hilig ng batang maligalig. It was tiring but fun 'cause Sophia and Renee really hit it off. We had little chika with them and also knew that Aryanne's husband, Regie, was the bassist of Stone Free! Nakakatuwa kasi R knows their songs, of course. They were there, too nung UP Fair Concert 2007 - one of my first dates with mamang sundalo. Hihi. Back to the little girls, they super liked each other that Renee wanted to come home with us. Haha! Ang cuuuuute, super. I remembered Sophia when she was at that stage, ayaw ng natatapos ang masasayang sandali.

Thank you, Aryanne aka Confessions of the Dra-mom Queen for this photo!

And because pasara na ang store, we went home na. From what Sophia was showing us, I knew she was happy that she got to spend her birthday with her tatay and nanay. Plus a new friend! The night was young (and so am I, chos) so I decided to continue on my preps for Sophia's gallopin' gala of sweets and fun party at school. It was a bit easier for me because I was not bleeding profusely unlike last year. And that I have another hand to assist me with the details - my husband's unskilled but patient hands.

Next post would be Sophia's My Little Pony Party at school! ♡
