Just Another Rayala Day

My daughter didn't go to school today because according to her- "I'm so sleepy. I can smell Tatay's pillow forever, Nay". Sigh. Yes, my husband was home Friday night and went back to his work place this morning. Usually, it is I, who feel lethargic after the king leaves the leased palace. Today was different. I managed to clean the house as early as 9:30 in the morning, cooked lunch at 11 and snoozed beside the snoring preschooler again. 30 minutes after, I tried to wake her up but to no avail. Her class starts at 2 pm and she woke up around 1:40ish. Grrr. Apparently, she stayed home for another day after her long vacation. She didn't automatically ask for food when she came down, which in fact is a part of her daily routine. She held her three My Little Pony toys, sat in the couch and stare blankly at the ceiling. I felt a tear coming so I had to ignore my emotions. I suggested we'd have the leftover chocolate cake for her *breakfast*.

We were supposed to dine out for my very advanced birthday dinner yesterday (because R won't be coming home that day as he'd be here on Sophia's na) but the car was at the auto shop. It had a dent in the hood and my OC husband had it fixed. I just told him to buy food and we'd eat here at home instead kasi tinamad na ako to commute. I was not feeling well kasi, migraine attacked again. I called Azul Spa Marikina for a home service. Ayan, as in parang spoiled brat lang, ayoko na biglang mag-commute. Hehe.

He bought from the neighboring stores: Cake from Red Ribbon, ice cream from 7-11, pancit bihon and siomai from ATM Panciteria and bbq from the palengke. That's my homemade chili sauce, by the way. Definitely, Marikenyos.

I made Tang juice and used these jars. The tall jars were Sola juices before and the short garapon was a Clara Ole strawberry jam. The straws are from Paper Straw Love. Theirs are very affordable but same quality with other stores ha. It's Php 140 only per pack of 50. Visit their Facebook page here.

I wrote Rayala in the buntings (in the cake) because I didn't want Sophia to think that it's my birthday na. But before praying for the food, she sang "Happy birthday, Nanay". Haha! We even blew the candle as if someone really had a birthday. Oh well, it's really a Pinoy thing to do when you have kids at home.

Forgive the blurriness. Taken using iPhone app: Wave Cam.
As always, the house is a bit messy whenever my king's at home but I must admit it's a happy mess. There were lots of cuddling, laugh trips, chismisan and playing. Most of all, it made us a family. It may get harder and harder each day as my baby girl is growing up real fast --- now bombarding me with lots questions and is bounded with bigger emotions --- but I know we can get through it all. So help us, God.

  4. We're in Iloilo and my hubby works at Bacolod Airport. He goes home every Friday and goes back to work Monday. My 22 months (little boy) knows na everytime he prepares to leave. Yesterday my son told him "Don't go to work Daddy" (indi lang work Daddy) in our dialect. He's only 22 months old and it's breaking my heart that he feels this things na :(
