Frugal Market Finds: The Life-Saver Pinakbet Pack

Today, I went to the market. My frugal inner self talked to me once again. These are my finds in quantity and with its prices:

It's not costly plus it's healthy! I sometimes find it hard to think of what to feed my 4-year-old preschooler since she eats like a bird; buying in small portion is not an easy feat. But veggie packs such as shown in the photo is definitely a life-saver. LB eats squash and eggplant (without the peeling). As of this post, the bananas were all gone --- I only ate one. So we know who the culprit is.

How about you mommas, what are your inexpensive and healthy ways in marketing?

  1. Ahahah! Life saver talaga yang mga veggie packs na yan. Ako naman yung takal-takal section dun sa SM supermarket yung binibili ko, dami kasing choices. Pati sa fruits minsan mura yung mga ripe na slices na nakapack na rin :)

    1. When I was still working, favorite kong buy yung Nilagang Baka pack sa Rustan's. Php50-70 lang, may celery and saging na saba na. Sometimes, corn cob. :D

  2. I love pinakbet.<3
When I was in Pinas I was my mom's grocery/palengke shopper. I was also her chef and nutritionist. I love inexpensive dishes but packed with vitamins such as pinakbet. I also love making the ginataang langka with dilis. If only I were in Pinas, I'm sure my wee ones will love eating those too. Cooking pinakbet here in US is a luxury. LOL You can find ingredients in the Asian/Filipino rarely and the price is enormous.

    1. I never thought LB would love the distinct taste of bagoong alamang. But she did! She even loves the sabaw to be bahog in the kanin. I bet your minis would love it, too. :)
